I am a Forward Deployed AI Engineer. The work I want is the work I have been doing: taking an AI system from nothing to production inside an environment somebody else built, where the domain is new to me, the legacy code is undocumented, the compliance constraints are real, and the people who understand the problem best do not write software.
Track Record
I have done that in retail computer vision, in Irish public procurement, in facilities compliance, and most recently in EU-funded education at Future In Perspective, on a four-week contract that ran to term in September 2026. The paperwork said Web Designer. The work was security hardening, audit and penetration testing across a WordPress estate of around eighty sites, and then the tooling that estate needed to be run rather than firefought.
I build agent-first, on Builder Harness, which I engineered and maintain, with a verification standard that will not let an agent call a task done without running the tests. Underneath that sit six years as founding CTO at EVERYANGLE, a computer-vision retail-analytics SaaS I joined with no computer-vision experience and left having led the technical side of a EUR 3M+ seed round and 10+ engineers across six countries. Named in the CTO Craft 100, 2024/2025 , which is the only item there with an external published source. The rest is my record, and the case study says so plainly. Before all of it, five profitable years running my technical consultancy, selling and supporting technology directly to non-technical business owners, which is the same conversation forward deployed work is built on. No repository history survives from that period either.
I co-founded Wisdom Engineers in May 2025 and sole-authored its product, Handee, which was retired in August 2026. From August 2026, I am a Non-Executive Director there: board-level input on product and technical direction, no operational responsibility.
I live in rural County Cavan, work remotely across Irish, UK and EU time zones, and have served as a retained on-call firefighter with Cavan County Council since 2024. That last one is not a hobby line. It is risk assessment and team coordination under time pressure, with incomplete information, at whatever hour the call comes. It is also where Slipway came from: the crewing app I built for on-call firefighters, which has been in daily use by a crew since September 2026 and is not, and does not claim to be, anybody's official system.
